Alone in your hole (part three)

You gaze at the star,
You block out all the noise,
You gaze at the stars beauty,
You must reach it.

You throw the monsters off,
You kick them,
Punch them,
And throw them into the pit below.

You gain some strength from the star,
You climb higher,
And higher,
Than you have before.

You gaze at the star,
How close it seems,
How close you are to the top,
You keep climbing.

You are almost at the top,
You can see the star,
But the monsters below awaken,
They growl and hunger.

You hurry,
But the monsters are faster,
They climb quicker than you,
They use the energy they stole from you.

You are just a few feet from the top,
You can see the star,
You hand reaches the edge,
And the monsters reach your leg.

You struggle to pull yourself up,
The monsters weigh you down,
They steal your energy,
But you can't give up.

You have made it this far,
If you could just get them off your back,
You could climb out,
And be free of the dark  hole.

But the monsters don't care,
All they care about is you carrying them,
They drag you deeper into the hole,
You desperately try to climb out.

You knock one of the monsters off,
But there are still four more,
You try to kick then all off,
But they hang on tightly.

You look up at the star,
Hoping it will give you strength,
And it does,
You kick the monsters off.

You use the little strength remaining
To finally climb out of the hole,
You lay on the ground beside the deep hole,
And you gaze up at the sky.

You can finally see the entire sky,
It is empty,
Except for one thing,
Your star.
