This is a cover I made for my novel "The Six Rings." Each word is made up entirely of one of the three main characters/narrators. The first narrator/main character is Thomas. He makes up the word "THE" also, I used the font I use in his chapters. The second narrator/main character is Sarah, she makes up the word "SIX" and I also used a similar font (cause the exact one I used was not available). And the last narrator is Matthew, he makes up the word "RINGS" and I used his font as well. Thomas uses "Markerfelt," Sarah actually uses "Bradlyhand" but I used "brush script," and Matthew uses "Papyrus"
It seems you plan to use different fonts for different characters, while that is a cool idea it is very impractical especially since you are using san serif fonts. The serifs help us read which is why they are used in books.
Yes, I do use three different fonts. I do not use different fonts in each chapter though. M books has three main characters who take turns narrating the book. They each get two chapters, which take place over the course of one day. During those two chapters, their font is used. Then, the next narrator takes over and their font is used for two chapters.
I had the idea to do this a long time ago, but since coming up with the idea, I read a book that did the same thing. The author did it very well, and it was easy to read.
What was the book you read?
I think that the circumstances must have been different there.
Also if you plan to publish this you need to think about what your general audience would think?
If you want I could be your overall graphic designer
I need work
Truth be told, I have kinda given up on my book. I haven't actually done any solid work on it in about a year. I did get a tiny bit done last December, but nothing at all since. I've had major writers block. I still have everything, I haven't deleted anything.
I would be happy to email you everything I have on it. All my notes and such.
The book was "The Rise of Mine" by Pittacus Lore. It's part of the "I Am Number Four" series.
in the beginning chapter they still use a serif font >:]
It's my novel, I love the fonts I used, I am not changing them.
Also, I picked each font to kinda match the character.
The youngest Tom has a child like font called marker felt.
Matt, the oldest has a font Called papyrus. He is more chill and laid back than the other two, so I gave him that one.
Sarah is the most uptight and strict of the three, so I gave her a font to match that. I forgot the exact name of the font, but I think it's called platino.
That's really cool!
interesting idea, I have some graphic design experience I could help you with the concept
